Young Onset Parkinson DiseaseAlthough Parkinson's is often diagnosed in people who are over 60, there are people with Parkinson's who are diagnosed in their 50's, 40's or even 30's. Young Onset Parkinson Disease raises a host of questions, concerns and experiences. If you have been diagnosed with Young Onset Parkinson Disease or are close to somebody who has Young Onset PD, information and support is available from the Vermont I&R Center and from APDA's national Young Onset Center www.youngparkinsons.org. The Young Onset Parkinson's Support Group is currently trying to meet every other month. Our meetings are held at various venues throughout the state of Vermont. Sometimes we have a guest speaker come to talk the group and sometimes we plan an activity we can all do together. Please check this page to get the latest information on our meeting dates and times. If you would like more information about our support group, feel free to contact Deborah Johnson-Surwilo at vtsurwilo@hotmail.com or 802 229-4435. We welcome new members. Also if there is an activity or a speaker you would like to have at one of our meetings please let me know and I will do my best to arrange the program. Sunday October 28th the YPSG will meet at Twin City Lanes on Rt. 302, which is located between Montpelier and Barre, at 2 pm. Even if you are not part of this support group please feel free to join us for some fun
and light hearted competition. Email Deb JS at vtsurwilo@hotmail.com to RSVP. I will inform the bowling ally the number of people that will be bowling. |
